Hummus

Hummus

This is a basic recipe for hummus. You can add different ingredients to this base to change up the flavors. We like to add chipotle peppers for a great spicy version. Or roasted garlic. Roasted red peppers is also a great addition.

Ingredients

2 cans garbanzo beans
2 garlic cloves
1/4 cup tahini paste
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
sea salt and pepper to taste
juice of 1/2 lemon

Preparation

Combine all ingredients except for olive oil in a food processor. With processor on, add in olive oil. Adjust seasoning as needed. Serve with pita bread or cut vegetables. Garnish with chopped parsley and an additional drizzle of olive oil if desired.
